Home Tourism Tours and Visits Museum The Cathedral Treasury

The Cathedral Treasury

The Treasury of the Cathedral of Malmedy is housed in the East wing of the cloisters adjacent to the Cathedral.

The town of Malmedy has laid out an attractive exhibition of religious antiquities here that meets the demands set by any museum visitor in these modern times.
Parallel to this, restoration of the major works in the collection has been begun so that they can be shown to the public in the best possible manner, thus ensuring that the art and history of the former principality are seen at their best.

Even though the “Bible of Malmedy” is preserved today in the Vatican and despite a good number of the relics disappearing during the Middle Ages or during the French Revolution, some important works still remain. There are also some rare items that do not originate from Malmedy, but which have fortunately found a home in the Cathedral now for several years, and these wait to be discovered by the visitor.

Opening hours:

Thursdays to Sundays 2-5 p.m.
